Since July 2011 PrIME Biologics has made a number of significant steps. These include:
a) Government Support
Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)
The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), in July 2011, has offered NuSep a 'soft loan' under the Innovation Development Scheme (IDS) to support the establishment of a Plasma Fractionation Facility in Singapore with the "game changing PrIME disposable plasma mini mill" technology. The Singapore Government has agreed to support PrIME Biologics as it sees this as a significant project that will help Singapore become self sufficient in the supply of Therapeutic Plasma products.
b) Therapeutic Industry Support
Letter of Intent from United Laboratories Philippines
NuSep signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with United Laboratories (Unilab) (www.unilab.com.ph) of the Philippines in July 2011. Unilab is a Philippines based pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of prescription and consumer health products covering all major therapeutic categories. Unilab sells into the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Myanmar markets and operates a biotech business in China.
This is a LOI to negotiate a direct investment by Unilab into PrIME's Singapore Plasma Fractionation Plant and concurrently developing a fractionating plant in the Philippines.
c) Expansion into other Asian Countries
In addition to discussions with Unilab PrIME has initiated negotiations with a number of other countries in Asia. While these discussions are at an early stage they have progressed rapidly as a result of the ability to process each of these countries Currently Unprocessable Plasma.
d) Presentation of the PrIME Process to WHO
The PrIME process was recently presented at the Blood Safety Committee of the World Health Organisation. This presentation was given by the head of the Singapore Health Sciences Authority Blood Services Group. This presentation recommended the adoption of the PrIME process for all small countries who wished to become self sufficient in the supply of Therapeutic Plasma Products.
